Though India is still widely seen as a third world, poverty stricken country, it is now an emerging force in the areas of Information Technology and in the Service Industry.
More than 600,000 towns and villages and a population of 1.050 billion make up present day India. It is said that India's Population would have soared to 1.46 billion by 2035, taking it ahead of China. About 40% of all Indians and 50% of Indian women remain illiterate. Approximately 83% live in rural, remote, and economically-depressed areas. In fact, more than one-third (334 million) are too poor to afford an adequate diet.
India boasts of 325 distinct languages and ten major religions, of which Christianity accounts for only 2.4% of the population, and Most of India's one billion people have never heard the name of JESUS! India is great country and in great need of your prayer.
