The world has
experienced an unprecedented catastrophe of a magnitude like no other in modern
history this Christmas season as death came from the sea. An earthquake
originating in the Indian Ocean generated a tsunami that struck all nations
bordering it and has left hundreds of thousands of people affected by it,
homeless and without hope.
Initial estimates put
the dead at close to 100,000 in the countries of India, Sri Lanka, Indonesia,
Thailand and more. These numbers do not nearly reflect the depth of the
disaster as thousands of families have been destroyed.
However
even during this unprecedented catastrophe, the “parting of sea” proved
beyond all doubt that the bible is the true word of God and what ever recorded
in the bible is true, even though we do not understand all of them. The parting
of sea is reported to have happened in the southern most tip of India (
Kanyakumari district, Tamil Nadu state, India) Following is an article published
in one of the largest circulating English newspaper in the state of Karnataka.
The item was published on the seventh page of their issue dated 28th of
December’04
"An
astounding phenomenon corroborated by local people, police and
journalist in Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu was the appearance of sand and
small rocks in the sea between the Pumpuhar Shipping Coproration's boat
jetty and the Vivekanda Rock Memorial after the killer waves (Tsunami)
receded after lashing against the shores on Sunday. The Vivekanda Rock
Memorial is just five minutes' journey by boat from this point. One
youth said that the sand was visible just like the sediments formed in
a bottle of sand and water. The phenomenon lasted less than 15 minutes.
" At one point it was even felt that people who were stranded at the
Vivekanda Rock Memorial could even attempt a hop-and-jump back to here
from the rock. But the wind was menacing and for once even the very
calm sea ( after the event)appeared scary", claimed Mr. Bala, the
tourism officer at the information office."
